The Glanbrook Rangers are officially underway for the 2026–27 PJHL season, opening their campaign with three games and coming away with a strong 2–1 record and four points in the South Bloomfield Division standings.
Rangers Start Strong in Streetsville
The Rangers opened the regular season on the road against the Streetsville Derbys, and there was no shortage of offence. Glanbrook came away with a 7–5 victory, with seven goals coming from six different Rangers.
Goal Scorers: Sammy Cino, Noah Cacciola, Ryan Wercholaz (2), Levi Snider, Tyler Grbavac and Trent Shaw.
Assists: Anthony Morcone, Jace Folz, Ryan Wercholaz (2), Trent Shaw, Hunter McGilvery (4) and Sammy Cino.
McGilvery had a standout night setting up his teammates, recording four assists, while Wercholaz finished with two goals and two assists in the season-opening win.
Home Opener Against Dunnville
The Rangers returned to Binbrook for their first home game of the season, welcoming the Dunnville Mudcats to Glanbrook Arena.
Despite a push from the Rangers, Dunnville took the matchup 3–1. Tyler Grbavac scored Glanbrook’s lone goal, with assists going to Ryan Wercholaz and Trent Shaw.
The loss moved the Rangers to 1–1, but they wouldn’t have to wait long for an opportunity to get back in the win column.
Rangers Bounce Back in Dundas
Glanbrook hit the road again the following night to face the Dundas Blues, earning a hard-fought 2–1 victory.
Ryan Wercholaz and Sammy Cino found the back of the net for the Rangers, while Jacob Melko and Hunter McGilvery picked up the assists.
The victory capped off the Rangers’ opening stretch with two wins in their first three games.
Longo Strong Between the Pipes
Gabriel Longo has put together an impressive start in goal through the Rangers’ first three games. Facing plenty of action early in the season, Longo has turned aside 109 shots while helping Glanbrook secure two victories.
Through three games, Longo sits at a 3.00 goals-against average and .917 save percentage, with a 2–1 record.
Looking Ahead
After the first week of the 2026–27 season, the Rangers sit 5th in the South Bloomfield Division with a 2–1 record, four points and a .667 points percentage.
With three games already in the books and contributions coming throughout the lineup, the Rangers will look to carry the momentum from their road win in Dundas into the next stretch of the schedule.
The season is just getting started. Go Rangers!
